Yin means the feminine, the dark, the moon, the earth. All things that ground us and bring us closer to our landing points. Darkness is only seen if there is light. We can feel the stark contrasts in our lives some days more than others. For it is only when we see light we also see dark. They hold hands. May you find time of solitude and reflection in your day to shift through and make sense of all of life’s questions. May you find time to pray. May you find that the corners of your heart. May you hold yourself with the utmost love and care as you give others.
My belief and hope is to encourage anyone drawn to our brand to approach the slowing down, the “going inward” and the shadow sides of our beings with as much love and admiration as we would for things that invigorate us. The visions of Yin Soul is to make this a ritual for yourself, each day.
As a yoga instructor, I gravitated to teach a gentle restorative format and preferred to do this to candlelight. I could see how candlelight allowed students to settle into their practice with ease.
I began to make hand-poured candles with intention to create a candle that burns with the purest, cleanest of waxes and oils. The desire was not just to create a beautiful ambiance, but to diffuse the space without adverse side effects.
Go inward.
Kimberly Wood, Owner/Founder
Yin Soul Company began years ago in the heart of my daughter and I. At this time in my life had a three young children at home, life moved at a whirlwind fast pace, and like millions of people, the to-do lists, juggling career, household duties and the maintenance of every day, I was running on empty. There was no time to pause. We all felt it.
My daughter and I began to carve out a small time each night to light candles, gentle movement/yoga, drink tea and intentionally draw inward with the small, but delightful things. We noticed the change in our lives immediately. The nightly routine began to evolve into a vision to bring this same little sanctuary of peace to others.
